America Holds Innocent Men at Guantanomo

According to analysis by McClatchy News, America's Prison for Terrorists Often Held Wrong Men

An eight-month McClatchy investigation of the detention system created after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks has found that the U.S. imprisoned innocent men, subjected them to abuse, stripped them of their legal rights and allowed Islamic militants to turn the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba into a school for jihad. Dozens, perhaps hundreds, wrongfully imprisoned!

John McCain and George Bush Say the Detaintees ("enemy combatants") Don't have any rights to appeal to U.S. Federal Courts!

The U.S. Supreme Court disagrees!

This was a very narrow victory, with the liberal judges barely outnumbering the conservatives. I have said this on other local blogs, but it is important to repeat: any Hillary Clinton supporters who are mad at Obama and want to vote for John McCain (or any other candidate) just to prove a point, don't do it!!! If McCain becomes President, he will only select Supreme Court Justices that follow the right wingers' ideologies. Then you can just kiss habeas corpus, reproductive rights, and gay equality goodbye.
