Obama to Announce Benefits for Same-Sex Partners of Fed. Employees
After all the uproar over the Obama DOJ's anti-gay brief defending the "Defense of Marriage Act," it looks like Obama and the DNC are trying to kiss up to the gay community, especially since so many were pulling out of the big DNC gay fundraiser next week.

UPDATE: (The Advocate) Obama To Extend Benefits to Partners of Fed. Workers (NOT Healthcare!)
The White House press office declined to detail which benefits would be included, but people familiar with the legal obstacles posed by the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, said health benefits are not likely to be a part of the package.
Pam Spaulding (Pam's Houseblend) is reporting that the "memorandum" Obama will announce Wed. will be very limited. (No Healthcare benefits, etc.)
