Obama Promises Progress to the Gay CommunityPresident Obama held a high profile meeting today with "gay right leaders" in the East Room of the White House to honor Gay Pride Month and to try to make some amends to the increasingly frustrated LGBT community. He acknowledged the slow progress on LGBT issues, but reaffirmed his commitment to repeal the anti-gay Don't Ask, Don't Tell and "Defense of Marriage Act," both laws supported by the last "pro-gay" Democrat in the White House, Bill Clinton.
