More Funds for War, None for Children's Healthcare

For the second time, Bush Vetoes the SCHIP Childen's Health Bill because he thought $35 billion was too much money for children's health, while Congress has approved a $700 billion Defense Bill which includes $696 billion in military spending with $189 billion more for the Iraq and Afghanistan military occupations. The Democrats caved in again on timetables for military redeployment out of Iraq. (Republicans always oppose spending more for social programs, but always support more military spending!)
