Huckabee Called for AIDS Quarantine. And that ain't all. As a candidate for U.S. Senate in 1992, Huckabee told the Associated Press that "If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague." He opposed increased federal funding to cure AIDS and said homosexuality posed "a dangerous public health risk." Oh, Huckabee now has a 20 point lead in Iowa!
