What is Gonzales Covering Up?

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales contradicted his prior testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee today, and suggested the existence of MORE illegal domestic spying programs. It didn't hear much discussion of this bombshell except on the Thom Hartmann Air America program. In 2006 Gonzales said that there were not any serious disagreements about Bush's warrantless wiretapping program. But when questioned about the contradictory testimony of Deputy Attorney General James Comey, who told a shocking story of racing Gonzales and White House officials to the hospital bed of ailing Attorney General John Aschcorft back in 2004 to stop them from forcing Ashfcroft to OK a secret program (which he would not give the details about), Gonzales now says that that hospital incident was not about the warrantless wiretapping, but different "intelligence activities" ! What were these other "intelligence activities" that were so questionable that John Aschcroft and his Deputy James Comey would not sign on to? What were these other secret surveillance (spying) programs that neither Aschcroft nor Comey would approve? What other secret illegal spying activities has the Bush administration been engaging in that required Gonzales and the White House (Rove?) to rush to the hospital of a sick Attorney General John Ashcroft to get his blessing over the acting attorney general James Comey? Hopefully Arlene Specter and the Democrats in congress will follow the trail and find MORE impeachable HIGH CRIMES by Bush & Cheney!
