I attended the Memphis Coffee Party meeting with mixed feelings. It's great that liberals and progressives are finally waking up and trying to counter the right-wing tea-party movement, but there seems to be more emphases on talking and finding common ground than with direct action. Hopefully the movement will quickly get beyond the talking and get into action to fight to save our democracy from the corporate takeover.
