Fox News is now claiming that they didn't cover the Shirley Sherrod story until AFTER she was fired by the Obama administration. Of course they are lying, and trying to rewrite the history of what happened.
The Obama White House has finally started to respond by not treating Fox like a legitimate "news" organization. Of course, the "mainstream" corporate news organizations are siding with FOX!
It is time that legitimate news organizations quit treating Fox like a "news" network. With crazy neo-fascists like Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly organizing "tea party" protests against health insurance reform and publishing lies and false stories about anyone who disagrees with their corporate anti-liberal, anti-Democractic, anti-labor, anti-environment, anti-gay, etc. agenda, we need to BOYCOTT the fake news network!
Fox News/Right-Wing Media Target Kevin Jennings, "Gay Czar" Looks like the next target of Fox News and the right-wing "czar" witch-hunt is Kevin Jennings, an official appointed by Obama in the Dept. of Education to over see "safer schools." Sean Hannity has falsely claimed that Jennings has ties to NAMBLA (he doesn't) and that he counseled a 15 year old who had a relationship with an older man (he was 16, which is above the age of consent in MA).
Media Matters is keeping track of these right-wing smears and lies.
Did you see George W. Bush's last press conference? What an embarrassment! Bush is either totally insane or he is a pathological liar. He tried to defend his failed presidency, claiming that he has defended the U.S. from terrorism (if you don't count 9/11!), and tried to put a smiley face on the Katrina disaster. He claims that his economic policies were a success (if you don't count the last two years). He even tried to blame Bill Clinton for the recession in his first term.
Has he been hiding in a fox hole somewhere? All economic indicators (unemployment, poverty, inequality, etc.) have been on a nosedive since he took office. Over 2 million jobs have been lost in the last year alone, and fewer than 3 million jobs have been created in his 8 year term (compared to 20 million under Clinton!).
Evidently Bush has been watching Faux News. I had a "discussion" with some conservative Republican relatives of my partner recently and they blamed the media for the current economic crisis! It's the media's fault that people are losing their jobs and their houses! Or they point to 9/11 and Katrina to explain away Bush's economic problems. Poor Bush has been unfairly blamed for the recession. This is what Faux News (Hannity, O'Reilly, etal.) are telling their brain-washed audience.
Bush and Cheney are on a PR campaign to cover up their incompetence and crimes. Most people are not buying their lies, at least those who don't watch Faux News.
The right-wing smear machine has successfully got the corporate media to focus on alleged "voter registration fraud" by ACORN (American Communities Organized for Reform Now) to cover up massive ELECTION FRAUD by the Repubican Party. Get the FACTS:

Once again, the Republican attack machine has managed to divert the medias attention away from real issues to smear Obama. It looks like the McCain campaign's strategy is to hide behind Sarah Palin and play the gender card against any attacks from the Obama camapaign. (Sound familiar?)
The media is running scared once again! MSNBC caved in to the right-wing media machine and is dropping Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann from anchoring any more election coverage. (Wonder when FOX will be dropping O'Reilly and Sean Hannity??)
The corporate media (Republican-controlled) is just as gullible as the American people to the right-wing smear machine.

It is hillarious to hear the right-wing media machine crying that the media is biased against John McCain!
John McCain has long been a media favorite. They helped create his image as a "maverick" and a "straight talking" politician, despite his pandering to the corporate elite and the extremist Republican Reich. They even provide him sprinkled donuts at press conferences.
Now the right-wing media machine is trying to intimidate the mainstream media to counter Barack Obama's well-received trip to the middle east, by providing more "balance" to their media coverage by covering every speech and townhall meeting McCain holds while Obama is meeting with foreign and military leaders and soldiers in the Middle East and Europe.
Another indication of just how in love the media is with John McCain, they actually try to cover-up his gaffes and false statements about Iraq and other "national security" issues, which he has little knowledge about!
Yet, the McCain Campaign, and their allies over at the racist Obama-hating TN Guerilla Women, claim the media has a love affair with Barak Obama?? (Funny how the McCain campaign has been copying the Hillary Campaign's anti-Obama attacks, and the pro-Hillary anti-Obama racists at TN Guerilla Women are supporting the McCain attacks on Obama!) I'm so disgusted with the TN Guerilla Women, they have become nothing more than an anti-Obama racist website regurgitating right-wing attacks on Obama. Why does TGW just admit it is now an anti-Obama, pro- John McCain blog? If these racist women are more afraid of Barack Obama than they are of President John McCain, they join the Log Cabin Republicans on my list of repulsive groups which should be shunned by all progressives who care about social justice and equality!
The Faux News Channel continues its right-wing attacks on Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, often borrowing the same attacks used by the Clinton campaign against them. Maybe that is why Fox News is hiring so many former Clinton advisors, who praise Fox as "fair and balanced"!
While trying to link Obama to controversial statements by his former paster Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan, the media has given John McCain a free ride on his endorsements from anti-muslim, anti-Catholic, anti-gay preachers John Hagee (who calls catholicism the "Great Whore" and claims that hurricane Katrina was God's judgment against homosexuality), and Roy Parsley who wants to eliminate Islam from the face of the earth, calls upon "Patriot Pastors" to wage war against gays, abortion and liberal judges, and John McCain calls his "spiritual advisor".
(McCain is also courting the ultra-right Council for Natonal Policy founded by right-wing extremists like James Dobson, which was behind the Iran-Contra scandal during the Reagan Administration and is now pushing a war with Iran!
As for Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ, at first, hearing the clips of his "inflammatory" sermons circulating on the internet, I thought he was a racist bigot and a religious fanatic. But he actually says a lot of things I agree with and is well-respected for his inclusive sermons, including acceptance of gays, and progressive politics, which probably influenced Barack Obama. I'm not sure Wright is a racist bigot. He is right about racism, rich white people do control this country, and yes the U.S. has been engaged in terrorism and killing innocent people for centuries. The United Church of Christ, the most progressive Christian denomination, is standing by Wright and the Trinity United Church of Christ. I think Rev. Wright stepped over the church/state line by attacking Hillary Clinton and endorsing Barack Obama. I don't think ANY preacher or pastor or minister should engage in partisan politics (e.g., attacking one candidate or endorsing another) whether it be a fundamentalist church endorsing Republicans or a liberal church endorsing a Democrat.
The right-wing attack machine is gearing up to take on Hillary Clinton. David Bossie, who was one of the relentless investigators of Clinton in the 1990s, and his right-wing PAC Citizens United are selling Hillary: The Movie which has been screened by conservative groups around the country and is being distributed on DVD. Citizens United is also working on TV attack ads. If Hillary is the Democratic nominee, it's not going to be pretty. This will make the anti-Kerry "Swift Boat" Ads look tame.
Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" won two oscar awards, Best Documentary and Best Song (Melissa Etherage's "I Need to Wake Up"). As expected, the right-wing nuts went ballistic and trotted out their dirty smear campaign against Al Gore. Never mind the evidence of global warming presented by Gore and the consensus of world scientists, the right-wing nuts are more concerned about Al Gore's utility bill! A right-wing "think tank" (The Tennessee Center for Policy Research), with links to Exxon and anti-environmental conservative groups, accused Gore of being a hypocrite because his utility bill is was 20 times the average american's bill. Not only did the right-wing nuts like World Net Daily News, Matt Drudge, Hannity, Limbaugh etal. push this story, but even the "mainstream" media ran with it. As usual, the right-wing nuts and their media echo chamber were more concerned with attacking Al Gore and did not care too much about getting the facts straight. The FACT is that Al Gore uses GREEN POWER through GREEN POWER SWITCH, and purchases "carbon offsets" to offset his carbon footprint, and is installing solar panels on his mansion. All things Al Gore is encouraging everyone to do. No one, not even Gore, claims to be "peferfect" on environmentalism, but they are trying and encouraging the rest of us to take the necessary steps to save our planet, while the right-wing nuts just ignore the facts altogether. Just another example of the right-wing media echo chamber getting their facts wrong and launching personal attacks against liberal Democrats.
